African footballer of the year awards
This evening at the Eko hotel and suites would be the crowning ceremony of the CAF African footballer of the year. Yaya Toure of Cote d' Ivoire and Manchester City remains the favourite to win the award, which if he wins would equal Samuel Eto'o's record of 4 wins and produce a new record of 4 wins in a row. The Messi of Africa? The list also features our own Vincent Enyeama who plies his trade for Lille football club of France, another Nigerian in the list is Ahmed Musa who plays for CSKA Moscow, Gabon and Borussia dortmund's Emierre piere Aubameyang and Ghana and Al Ain's Asamoah Gyan completing the list. The award will also feature Coach of the year award which Stephen Keshi has been nominated for. For the female side, two of our players are nominated For Female African player of the year-Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie. Other categories include African home based player of the year, Team of the year, Referee of the year, most promising young talent of the year and platinum award to be presented to Pres Goodluck Jonathan and Dr Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana. Who do you think will win? While some think it could be Vincent Enyeama's time, the dominant Yaya Toure might not let that happen. We can't wait for the night to come.
